ILLICIT DRUGS: Deaconess Mrs Oborevwori Attends Prevention, Treatment and Care Training

The First Lady of Delta State, Deaconess Mrs Tobore Oborevwori, has attended a two day training Programme on prevention, treatment and care, organized by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abuja. The training programme, aimed at strengthening the capacity of First Ladies nationwide in addressing the menace of illicit drug usage, ended today.

In a statement by the First Lady, she said “today, we concluded an important endeavour aimed at strengthening the capacity of First Ladies nationwide in addressing the menace of illicit drug usage. Over the past two days, we convened for a comprehensive training session on drug prevention, treatment, and care organized by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abuja. In the aftermath of this training, various resolutions were reached, as outlined in a communique issued by our esteemed chairperson, Her Excellency, Olufolake Abdulrasaq. These include the urgent revitalization of State Drug Control Committee, the imperative of promoting effective parenting practices, and the necessity of fostering collaboration with NDLEA Commands across our various states”.

She further added that “looking ahead, I am optimistic that through the implementation of these resolutions and our sustained engagement in initiatives aimed at combating drug abuse, we will significantly mitigate the prevalence of this societal menace, particularly among our youth”.

It is worthy of note that, Mrs Oborevwori is the Founder of You Matter Charity Foundation, a pet project she established to complement her husband’s MORE Agenda in reaching out to the grassroots and for the benefit of Deltans.
